6 Reasons to Enrol at Explorers Greenvale

1. Location

Situated on Mickleham Road in the heart of Greenvale, Explorers Greenvale is a stone’s throw from the Greenvale shopping centre.

A family-oriented suburb with open spaces, natural beauty and lush, leafy parks for children to play. These open spaces include the nearby Woodlands Historic Park and Greenvale Recreation Reserve – a 60-hectare open space which is home to local cricket, tennis and football clubs.

Explorers Greenvale is located near top tier local primary schools in both government and private sector.

Easily connected to the city by car via Tullamarine Freeway and Western Ring Road. There are also two nearby trains stations which offer convenience to travel across the city.

2. Extras Program

Explorers Greenvale is proud to offer additional complimentary educational programs taught by specialist teachers that all children enrolled have the opportunity to participate in.

Our ‘Extras Program’ has been created to enhance our children’s experience and provide opportunities for learning in specialised areas. All children are welcome to participate in this program at no additional cost to families. These specialised programs include Gardening & Sustainability, Music & Movement, French language classes and Speech Therapy.

3. Reggio Emilia Inspired

At Explorers we’re inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach which informs our practice. Our curriculum is respectful of children, their rights and their desire to learn. We also believe that every child brings with them a deep curiosity that drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it. Our goal is to embrace this curiosity, challenge each child’s thinking and facilitate their eagerness to learn and construct understanding.

4. Nutritional menu

Our nutritionally balanced menu is prepared on our premises daily. All meals provided by Explorers follow a menu supported by Nutrition Australia and are prepared fresh on the premises by experienced chefs. Our fresh fruit and produce are sourced from our edible gardens and local suppliers.

Our little Explorers are provided with breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late fruit snack. We provide a progressive approach to mealtime and specific dietary requirements to accommodate for individual needs.

During various cultural celebrations children have opportunities to help cook special meals for the day and learn about different cultures, festivals and flavours.

5. Indoor/Outdoor program

Our Indoor/Outdoor Program is a fundamental part of our curriculum. Our program allows children to have the opportunity to move freely around their learning environment.

Our bespoke program provides learning experiences both indoors and outdoors, taking on the play-based learning approach. We cater to individual needs of children by allowing them to find a space where they feel a sense of belonging, whether that be within a classroom or outside.

At Explorers, we also make an effort to bring the outdoors, indoors. We often use natural materials such as wood, shells, leaves, plants, stones and much more within our indoor learning experiences. Children are encouraged to explore these materials and use them within their play.

6. Kinder Program

Our Kindergarten program designed for 3 and 4 year olds, uses a play based approach that emphasises learning through exploration and investigation. The program encourages children to be creative in all areas, whether it is problem solving or the expressive arts. It also encourages lateral thinking and positive social interactions. Our program will run within long day care hours.

Explorers Greenvale is expected to open June 2021.
