How To Apply

The Explorers Application Process

Once you have read through the job advertisement thoroughly and collated the necessary documents you will go through the following stages in our application process:

1. Sign up to our Careers Portal

By signing up to our careers portal you will be able to submit your application, review the progress of the roles you have previously applied for, apply for job alerts and update your personal details.

2. Apply for the Job

Click on the job you wish to apply for, then click ‘Apply Now’ at the bottom of the page and follow the prompts to complete your application. If you’ve signed up to our careers portal, your personal details will be automatically loaded. You will also need to provide your Work Rights, Registrations, Qualifications and Education.

3. Attach Documents

You will be required to submit a cover letter and resume detailing your relevant qualifications and experience. Your application documents can be submitted in Word or PDF form.

4. Provide References

You are required to provide a minimum of one referee. Your references will not be contacted until we have met you in person.

5. Address the Key Selection Criteria

If the position you are applying for requires you to respond to a list of key selection criteria, please answer each appropriately, demonstrating how your qualifications and/or experience would help you to meet the requirements of the role. This section of the application may require Yes or No answers or a written response, depending on the role you are applying for.

6. Equal Employment Opportunities

You will have the option to fill in details such as your nationality and place of birth. This section is voluntary, however your cooperation is appreciated. Explorers is an equal opportunity employer and will accept all applications from candidates who possess the correct qualifications and experience for the jobs advertised.

7. Check your Application was Submitted

If your application was successfully uploaded into our system, you will receive an email notification confirming the submission of your application. You can also view your application history once you’ve registered in our Careers Portal.  If you are having trouble submitting your application please email careers@eel.com.au.

 

What happens next?

So you’ve found a position with us that you’d like to apply for and completed the application… What next?

1. Resume and Cover Letter Submitted

Thanks for applying! We will read your application now.

2. Phone Interview

If you are a successful candidate, we will contact you to arrange a short 5-10 minute phone interview. Here we will chat with you, get to know you, answer any of your questions and briefly discuss your application. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email.

3. In-person Interview

If you’re a match, we will contact you to invite you to meet us in person. This interview will be of a similar nature to the phone interview, whilst going into a bit more detail. This is a great time for you to ask any more questions you may have.

4. Reference Checks

If we’ve met you and think you are perfect for the role, we let you know we’d like to call your references and will then contact them accordingly.

5. Welcome to the Team

Successful candidates will be phoned, sent an offer of employment via email, invited to begin working with us and then welcomed to the Explorers team! If you like us just as much as we like you, you will meet everyone in your team, take part in an online induction and join a mentoring program. Congratulations! We look forward to working with you!

Tips for joining the Explorers team

Join our Careers Portal – Here you can update your preferences and sign up for job alerts, to ensure you are the first to know when a new vacancy is advertised. Joining our portal also means you can save the positions you’re interested in and save applications as you work through them.

Make sure your application (resume and cover letter) shows how your skills and experience suit the key selection criteria provided.
